🛎️ Please support our petition and help us protect the future of Rutland’s village halls.

We are asking Rutland County Council to withdraw the proposed charges for waste removal from village halls.

From September 1st RCC will no longer empty the Village Hall bins without charge – a charge that in Empingham will equate to approx. £700 which is 20% of our annual income from hiring. Village halls provide affordable spaces for local clubs, activities, events and organisations.

We, in Empingham, are run by volunteers on very limited budgets, already facing rising costs for energy, insurance, maintenance and repairs. Adding waste charges will put further strain on these vital community facilities leading to higher fees.

If you agree that village halls should be supported rather than subject to these additional charges, please sign our petition which is being raised by all the halls in Rutland.

The petition will be available in the Hall, at the Church during the upcoming craft fair on 30th and 31st as well as at the door at the cricket club event on the 30th.

Together, we can make sure our village hall remains affordable, accessible and sustainable for everyone.
